Devi Sri Prasad (born on 2 August 1979) is a film composer and
playback singer in Telugu, Tamil films. His soundtracks have been dubbed
or remade in several other languages as well. He is by birth born with talent and has proved his mettle as a talented artiste right from a very early age.
His family is well associated with the film industry as his father
Satyanand is a popular story, script and dialogue writer. He won several prizes in the culturals organised at inter-school level for both dance and singing competitions. He started his
musical career with an album Dance Party along with S. P. B. Charan and a few more debutants at the time, was the kick start of his music career. But, as a music director he
got his first break with the film Devi in 1999 when he was 17-year-old.
From then he had no looking back and gave many musical hits in Tamil,
Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada.
Devi
Sri Prasad was a disciple of the renowned mandolinist, U. Srinivas, and
he has directed music for dozens of South Indian films, including
several box-office successes.
He has also written lyrics for a few songs in Telugu, which include
"Vecha Vechaga" in Vamsi (starring Mahesh Babu, Namratha), "Premante
Yemitante" in Anandam, "Chaila Chaila" in Shankar Dada MBBS, and
"Udayinche Suryudinadigaa" and "Akaasam" in Kalusukovaalani. He has a
younger brother named Sagar who is also a playback singer.
'Aa Ante Amalapuram' song from Arya became a rage and Shankar Dada MBBS is another milestone in his career. His entry in Bollywood happened after one of his chartbusters 'Ringa Ringa' from Arya 2 caught the attention of Salman Khan, and he wanted a similar one for his movie Ready.
He got Film fare Best Telugu Music Director Award in 2004 (for Varsham), in 2005 (for Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana) , in 2006 (for Bommarillu), in 2012 (for Gabbar Singh). Not only Film fare awards but also he got no.of other awards like South Indian International Movie Awards, Santosham Film Awards, CineMAA Awards, Maa Music Awards, Mirchi Music Awards South and etc.
In this year, he scored music for the movies Mirchi, Iddarammayilatho, Singam(Yamudu 2), Yevadu(Movie ready to release), Attarintiki Daaredi(Movie ready to release). All these albums were already create a sensation. And also he is scoring for Mahesh babu & Bala krishna for the first time in this year.
He is not only a music director but also
a good dancer on stage shows, and also penned songs for few Telugu
films. So far this young and energetic has scored music for nearly 58 films. He is master in composing melodies, fast beats, peppy and mass
numbers. Devi Sri always confesses that his inspiration is Music Maestro
Ilayaraja.
On this occasion, we wish him many more
years of life to score fantastic tunes and also wish him to scale many
new heights in future.
